MISSION STATEMENT

The Bay Area Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (BALEO) is dedicated to advancing the collective interests and empowerment of Latino communities in the Bay Area. Committed to fostering inclusive representation, equitable policies, and socio-economic progress, we unite Latino leaders in a collaborative effort to address the unique challenges facing our diverse constituents.

Our mission is threefold:

Championing the interests of the Latino community, BALEO serves as convener for the development policies and initiatives that promote equity, justice, and equal opportunities. We strive to ensure there is strong Latino representation in elected and appointed positions at all levels of government, empowering leaders to effectively address the concerns of our communities.

BALEO is dedicated to fostering civic engagement and political awareness within the Latino community. Through educational programs, outreach initiatives, and community partnerships, we empower our community to actively participate in the democratic process, cultivating informed and engaged citizens who can contribute to the betterment of society.

Recognizing the strength in unity, BALEO encourages collaboration among Latino leaders, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and businesses. By fostering a network of support, sharing resources, and promoting dialogue, we strive to create a unified front that addresses the multifaceted needs of our communities and promotes a more vibrant and inclusive Bay Area.

BALEO is commited to building a society where the diverse Latino voices are not only heard but also actively contribute to the social, economic, and political fabric of the San Francisco Bay Area.
